I’ve decided to start again on something I’ve tried once before, when my artistic skill was less than it is now: drawing a deck of tarot cards.
Unlike last time when I tried to copy a traditional tarot deck and ended up loosing interest in the traditional cards, this time I intend to create my own deck (for this reason some persons have told me that I really should call them "Oracle Cards", and not Tarot Cards). The cards will have images and symbolism that appeal to my own psyche.
Each card will have two names, one for when it’s upright and one for when it’s reversed, with two similar meanings, one positive and one negative. The “icons” for the positive and negative names on each card come from two of my paintings, “Floydian Slip” and “The King in Yellow”.
How many cards will there be, and what is the timetable for completion? I cannot say right now. I'm drawing them as the inspiration comes to me.
